Little Feat Announce 2026 The Last Farewell Tour: Little Feat have shared that they will go on one final tour in 2026. This special tour is called “The Last Farewell Tour.” Before starting the tour, they are performing several shows on cruise ships. The group will hit the road with longtime members Billy Payne, Kenny Gradney, and Sam Clayton. They will also be joined by guitarist Fred Tackett, who has been with the band for many years. Newer members Scott Sharrard and Tony Leone will perform with them on this tour.
The farewell tour begins on April 10th, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Throughout the tour, the band will visit cities such as Knoxville, Austin, and Kansas City.
Fans can buy tickets through Ticketmaster or directly from Little Feat’s website. People who want deals or tickets to sold-out shows can use StubHub, which offers a 110% guarantee. The band explained that this tour does not mean they will stop playing music forever.
They said it will take years to slowly wind down touring, and they will still perform and record as long as they can. They described it as retiring from the long travel involved in touring. To celebrate the tour news, Little Feat released a new song called “Feathers and a Smile.”
The song was originally written in 1970 by late co-founder Lowell George. It includes a previously unreleased part from “Crazy Captain Gunboat Willie Suite.” The updated version features vocals from Lowell George’s daughter, Inara George.
In an interview, Billy Payne said he didn’t like the idea of retiring at first. He noted that many musicians are choosing to retire now. Payne said he will turn 77 in March. Fred Tackett is 80 years old. Kenny Gradney will turn 76 next year.

Payne, Gradney, and Clayton were part of Little Feat’s famous classic lineup in the 1970s. The band ended in 1979 after Lowell George passed away from a heart attack. They reunited in 1987 with a new lead singer, Craig Fuller. Fuller left the band in 1993 to spend more time with his family. Throughout the years, Payne, Gradney, and Clayton continued as the group’s core members.
The current lineup came together after the death of Paul Barrere in 2019. Scott Sharrard joined after Barrere passed away. Drummer Tony Leone joined the group in 2020. Payne said the band still sounds like Little Feat because of the strong musical chemistry. He shared that fans smile when they hear the band’s newest album. Little Feat’s latest album, Strike Up the Band, came out in May.
