The farewell tour will begin with two shows in Seattle on April 21 and April 22, 2026. After two more concerts in the Pacific Northwest, the band will continue the tour on June 15 in Portland.

The Bad Plus tour will include shows in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York City, Washington D.C., and Montreal. The final concert of the tour will take place on June 27, 2026 in Westport.

Meanwhile, founding members Reid Anderson and Dave King are preparing for another special tour. They will join Craig Taborn and Chris Potter for a tribute tour honoring Keith Jarrett and his American Quartet.

About Bad Plus Band

The Bad Plus is an American jazz group from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The band was formed in 2000. Their music style includes jazz and avant-garde jazz. The group was originally a piano trio. The founding members were Ethan Iverson (piano), Reid Anderson (bass), and David King (drums).

In 2021, the band changed its lineup and became a quartet. The current members are Reid Anderson on bass, David King on drums, Ben Monder on guitar, and Chris Speed on tenor saxophone.

The musicians Ethan Iverson and Orrin Evans are former members of the group. Ethan Iverson, Reid Anderson, and David King first played music together in 1989. However, they officially formed The Bad Plus in 2000.

The band recorded their first self-titled album after performing only three shows together. The album was released by Fresh Sound Records.

A performance at the Village Vanguard caught the attention of Yves Beauvais from Columbia Records. The band then signed with Columbia Records in 2002.

Their major label debut album, These Are the Vistas, was released in 2003. They later released Give (2004) and Suspicious Activity? (2005).

After leaving Columbia Records, the band signed with Heads Up Records, which is part of Telarc. They released the album Prog in 2007.

In 2008, they recorded the album For All I Care, which featured vocalist Wendy Lewis. The album was released in Europe in 2008 and in the United States in 2009. Their album Never Stop was released in September 2010.

The trio also served as artists in residence at Duke University in 2010 and 2011. During this time, they performed their version of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” on March 24, 2011 at Reynolds Theater.
